MEET THE TEAM

Zoey Hall | President

Zoey is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Global Health and Biological Anthropology with a minor in music. Outside of Simpli•Sci, she is involved in the Northwestern University Marching Band, Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, and is a research associate in the Amato lab. In her free time, Zoey enjoys exploring Chicago with her friends and watching Criminal Minds.

Shreya Ruia| Vice president

Shreya is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying Neuroscience and Global Health with a minor in Philosophy. In addition to Simpli•Sci, she conducts research on Alzheimer’s Disease in the Klein Lab and is involved with Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s, Northwestern Emergency Medical Organization, and South Asian Student Alliance. In her free time, Shreya enjoys hammocking, practicing yoga, and trying out new restaurants. 

Sydney Huang | Project Manager

Sydney is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Neuroscience, Biology and Global Health. In addition to Simpli•Sci, she is involved in Glucolyzer, Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, and Chinese Student Association. She loves trying out new restaurants, getting boba, and playing badminton in her free time.

Janna Lee | Artistic Director

Janna is an undergraduate studying communications and computer science. Outside of Simpli•Sci, she’s an UX designer at TIDAL Lab, a stage manager for student theatre, and a member of DISC. She loves to doodle, bake (or at least try to), and go on super long walks!

Mira sundar | writing team lead

Mira is an undergraduate studying math and biology. Outside of Simpli•Sci, she is a research associate for the Kamat Lab and volunteers at the Evanston Animal Shelter. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, drawing, trying new foods, and exploring Chicago.

Avery Morawa | Design team lead

Avery is an undergraduate student studying Biology, Global Health Studies, and Art. Outside of Simpli Sci, she’s a writer for the Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal, a research associate for Carthew Lab, a DJ for WNUR, and a member of Northwestern Art Review. In her free time, Avery enjoys spending time with her friends, painting, going on walks, and writing.

max bennett | Writing Team

Max is a Northwestern undergraduate studying environmental science and journalism in hopes of making a difference in energy and sustainability. He is also an editor at In Our Nature magazine, a student-run environmental publication, and a ResilientNU board member. Max likes to lift, write, and doodle in his free time.

Rohan Krishnamurthi | Writing Team

Rohan is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Applied Mathematics and Biological Sciences. In addition to Simpli•Sci, he is involved in Tufaan Entertainment and tutors students in mathematics. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, cooking, and making tea at home.

Jeremy Song | Writing Team

Jeremy is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, studying chemistry. In addition to Simpli•Sci, he is involved with Club Tennis and Northwestern Business in Healthcare. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys cooking and watching thrillers.

Anastasia Jimenez | Marketing Director

Anastasia is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Biological Sciences with a minor in Anthropology and Entrepreneurship. Outside of Simpli•Sci, she conducts research in Pulmonary Developmental Bio with the Vila Ellis Lab, and is involved with the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students and Accord Hospice. She also runs her own sewing business called Stella's Imagination. In her free time, Anastasia enjoys playing soccer and watching scary movies with her friends.

Ellie Siu | Design Team

Ellie is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Biological Sciences and Global Health. In addition to Caped Clinicians, she is involved with Quest+, NU Red Cross, Chinacare, and Chinatown Health Initiative. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, exploring new food with friends, and watching movies.

Abigail LeBovidge | Design Team

Abigail is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Biology, Linguistics, and Gender Studies. In addition to Simpli•Sci, she is involved with CRUSH magazine, Helicon Literary & Arts Magazine, Illustrators and Animators Club, and Northwestern Community Singers. In her free time, Abigail enjoys writing, drawing, and listening to fiction podcasts.

ESTHER KIM | Design Team

Esther is an undergraduate studying Neuroscience and on the pre-med track. Outside of Simply-Sci,  she is part of NUUBF, exec for NUBadminton, and part of the startup ReCat. In her free time she likes to bake, read manhwa, play badminton, quill, and draw.

Jennifer Baik | Co-President

Jennifer is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, studying Biological Anthropology and Global Health. In addition to Caped Clinicians, she conducts research at the Amato Lab, plays electric guitar for Asian American Intervarsity, and tutors local high school students. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys playing tennis, listening to NPR’s Tiny Desk, and exploring Chicago.

Nina Meng | VP of Marketing

Nina is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying economics, data science, and entrepreneurship. In addition to Caped Clinicians, she is on the communications committee for CodeID, and a member of Women in Business and Women in Computing. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading historical fiction, and trying new foods.

Alex Mexa | Social Media Director

Alex is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying Economics and Cognitive Science. In addition to Simpli•Sci, he is involved in ISBE Arch and Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing the piano and guitar, photography, and listening to music.

Jessica Moonjely | Writing Team

Jessica is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Cognitive Science. Outside of Simpli•Sci, she does research with the Feinberg Department of Ophthalmology, sings with Northwestern's South Asian fusion a cappella group, and works with ISBE Micro. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts and writing Letterboxd reviews.

Taymae Mimouni | Design Team

Taymae is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Earth and Planetary Sciences. In addition to Simpli•Sci, she’s involved with Northwestern’s Formula Racing team and is a tutor with Books and Breakfast. She loves biking, skateboarding, eating, and watching movies with her friends.

Catherine Zhao | Design Team

Catherine is an undergraduate student studying Neuroscience and Art, Theory, & Practice. In addition to Simpli•Sci, she is involved in Student Philanthropy Council, Rainbow Alliance, and Art Union. In her free time, Catherine loves wearing bucket hats, visiting art museums, and listening to Katy Perry on repeat.

Zara is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Biological Sciences and Art, Theory, and Practice. Outside of Caped Clinicians, she is involved in NU’s Pakistani Students Association, NU Heights, and volunteers at the Pearl of Evanston. In her free time, Zara loves to paint, try new restaurants, and go thrifting.

Anna Bock | Writing Team

Anna is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Psychology while on the pre-Physician Assistant track. In addition to Simpli•Sci she is involved with The Daily Northwestern, NU Heights, New Lives Volunteering Society, and the Phi Delta Epsilon Pre-Medical Fraternity. In her free time, Anna enjoys reading fiction novels, eating copious amounts of popcorn, and petting dogs on their daily walks around Evanston!

Sofie Kennedy | Writing Team

Sofie is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Neuroscience and Science in Human Culture on the premed track. Outside of Simpli•Sci, she is a research assistant in the Lee Lab at Northwestern, President of Be The Match, Vice President of Philanthropy for Alpha Phi, and a volunteer tutor for CPS students. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, going to the beach, and fostering dogs.

Kate Austin | Design Team

Kate is an undergraduate at Northwestern University studying Environmental Science. Outside of Caped Clinicians, she is a violinist in Philharmonia and helps to co-lead Elevating Deaf Voices, a club she founded in 2022 that seeks to bring Deaf culture and ASL-related events to NU. In her free time, Kate enjoys watching Carmen Sandiego with her roommates and trying new foods & restaurants!

Grace McDonnell | Writing Team

Grace graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Biology and minors in both music and classics. Outside of Caped Clinicians, she was a researcher with the department of plastic surgery at Feinberg School of Medicine, section leader for Northwestern University Marching Band, and volunteered with several philanthropic groups on campus. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, yoga, and running.

Mariama Bah | Design Team

Mariama is a second-year McCormick CS major. She is primarily a digital artist, but is exploring 3D art, 2D animation, and motion graphics! Mariama is an animation nerd with the goal of working in the animation industry as a technical director who creates tools for artists.

Gabe Dara | Founder

Gabe graduated from Northwestern in 2023 with a Bachelor's in Neuroscience and Computer Science. He founded Caped Clinicians in his freshman year after identifying certain barriers in understanding scientific concepts for younger audiences during his experiences teaching and conducting cancer research in a lab. In his free time, he likes playing piano and reading.

Palak Shah | Senior Writer

Palak graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Computational Biology with a minor in Data Science. Outside of Caped Clinicians, she conducted research in the Braun lab, and leds an undergraduate research project at the Center for Advanced Regenerative Engineering. She also sang with Northwestern’s South-Asian fusion a cappella group, and gave campus tours! In her free time, Palak enjoys hiking, cooking, playing her guitar, and writing songs.
